Chief Paul F. TuckerCHIEF PAUL F. TUCKER began his law enforcement career in 1970 as a member of the Salem State College Police Department. In 1981 he became a member of the Nashua New Hampshire Police Department, where he served with distinction until 1983 when he began his career at the Salem Police Department. He quickly rose to the rank of Detective where he worked with renowned success on some of the department’s most sensitive and important investigations. In 1989 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and returned to the Patrol Division for a brief period before being promoted to Captain in 1992. He was the commander of the Criminal Investigation Division for 17 years until his recent promotion to Chief of Police in October.

Chief Tucker holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master of the Arts in Criminal Justice, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2000. Chief Tucker has been an adjunct faculty member of area colleges since 2000.

 

The National Center for Women and Policing is a nationally recognized organization with women from all ranks of law enforcement - from front line officers to executives, Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police. Departments represented include small, medium and large municipal police departments, county sheriff's departments, State Police agencies, and a variety of Federal agencies that include sworn officer personnel. The National Center is a division of the Feminist Majority Foundation, a 501 c(3) organization.
